Hearts & Horses to Collaborate with CSU’s Temple Grandin Equine Center!

By April 14, 2021Uncategorized

Hearts & Horses is proud to announce a collaboration with CSU’s Temple Grandin Equine Center. The study that launched in early February will focus on occupational therapy in an equine environment for youth with autism.  Caiti Peters, an occupational therapist and postdoctoral fellow in the CSU Department of Animal Sciences, is leading the study, which builds on previous research conducted at Hearts & Horses with an interdisciplinary team that also included researchers from the departments of Human Development and Family Studies and Occupational Therapy.

The study is funded by the Human Animal Bond in Colorado through the Human-Animal Interaction Pilot Grant. Hearts & Horses will provide therapists, volunteers, and site-coordination for the project at the Temple Grandin Equine Center.  Findings from the current phase will provide a strong foundation for future research. Learn more about the study!
