Summer Camp 2008


 

Hearts & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center and Blue Mountain Riding Academy are very excited to offer six weeks of Summer Camp in 2008!


Each camp is tailored to the needs of the participants. Those with solid equestrian skills are challenged to learn more and to share their knowledge with others, while first-time riders gain confidence with the help of our experienced instructors and dedicated volunteers.


June 9-12 -- Survivor Teen Summer Camp (Ages 13-17)
Camp Fee: $ 275


Come Survive a week at Hearts and Horses! Requirements for this camp are the ability to walk and trot on a horse independently. Campers will participate in “Survivor” (based on the television show) themed games and activities on and off horseback. Teams will participate in activities to include barn chores and getting dirty. This camp will promote team building and self reliance through horse and group activities. Requirements for this class are prior horse experience, ability to ride independently at walk and trot and the desire to have fun!


June 16-19 – *Therapeutic Summer Camp (Ages 7-13)
Camp Fee: $ 135


*9:00 am -12:00 noon -- Limited to 5 campers. (If camp fills, there is a possibility of an additional camp from 1-4pm.) This camp draws upon the therapeutic value of equines for children with sensory integration and attention issues. In addition to taking part in specialized activities to get more in tune with their bodies, participants will gain riding and horse care skills while having a great time!


June 23-25 -- **Just Learning How to Ride Camp (Ages 7-12) **Mon-Wed
Camp Fee: $ 205


This camp is designed for campers with little or no prior horse experience. This camp will focus on the beginning rider just learning how to ride and to learn about horses. We will offer activities that will help your child learn about horse breeds, colors, herd behavior, grooming and general care of their horse for a week.


July 14-17 – Little Tumbleweeds (Ages 7-12)
Camp Fee $275


This camp is designed for younger campers with prior horseback riding skills. Requirements are that riders have attended a prior horse skills camp or private or group riding lessons. Must be able to ride independently at walk. We will offer activities and riding instruction to further develop the horsemanship skills as well as self confidence of young riders.


July 21-24 – Dude, Where’s my Horse? (Ages 13-17)
Camp Fee: $ 275


This camp is designed for teenage riders with little or no riding experience. We will offer activities that foster an environment of self confidence, teamwork, and the benefits of being around horses and socializing with others that share a common interest.


July 28-31 -- Just Learning How to Ride Camp (Ages 7-12)
Camp Fee: $ 275


This camp is designed for campers with little or no prior horse experience. This camp will focus on the beginning rider just learning how to ride and to learn about horses.
