Changing Leads

Where the wisdom of the horse moves us to develop and deepen our greatest potential.

Aptly named, Changing Leads pulls from the idea that a horse is in total balance when it is on the correct lead. Often times humans need to “change their lead” in order to balance the weight of stressors in their lives. Both horse and human strive for balance, and Changing Leads can help them to achieve this goal.

Changing Leads offers private and group classes in eight week blocks where individuals work one on one with a therapeutic team consisting of a horse, an equine specialist, and in some cases a volunteer or educator. The powerful bonds that develop between horse and human allow goals to be reached more quickly than in a clinical setting.

Why a Horse?

Horses are social creatures exhibiting great beauty, power, and grace. The horse has the ability to mirror what humans are experiencing and feeling. Their accepting nature and their ability to give immediate objective non-verbal feedback combined to create an ideal experiential learning environment.
